Awards and Accolades

Thanks to our continual dedication to producing the most beautiful and useful high-quality glass packaging, we have been fortunate to receive many awards and recognition over the years. In both the consumer and commercial packaging spheres, positive feedback from satisfied customers is the best reward we could ever ask for – but winning awards is nice, too!

Here are just a few of our proud accomplishments:

Our Perfectly Made For Each Other TV commercial scooped a Craft Certificate for cinematography in the Film Craft Category of this year’s prestigious Loeries Awards, 2020.

The Loeries is the highest accolade for creativity and innovation.  Our highly acclaimed TV commercial was a finalist in five different categories, being Cinematography, Direction, Editing, Original Music and Sound Design, and Special Visual Effects. We could not have attained this accolade without the help of our super team – thank you to all who were involved in this production. Grey South Africa and Bioscope Films. Valpré Spring Water won the Gold Award for “Best Glass Packaging”, as well as a Silver Award in the “Beverages – non-alcoholic” category. In addition, many other Consol Glass clients were recognised for their modern, beautiful and original packaging solutions. These include Castle Lager Heritage, Castle 1985 Draught, Über Brews, and even our very own Consol CurvyTM bottles.

At the 2013 Gold Pack Awards, Consol Glass was nominated an impressive six times. Three of our packaging solutions in particular were selected by the judges as examples of distinction and excellence. Robertsons Spice 100ml glass bottles gained top recognition, winning the IPSA Gold Pack trophy, while other Consol clients like Pakco Sauce, Sally Williams and Hansa Pilsner also received acclaim for their beautiful glass packaging.

The Fairlady Consumer Awards recognise products and businesses that make life easier for South African households, so it’s no surprise that Consol products made an appearance! Our Grip & Go™ bottle was nominated as a finalist for the category of Best South African Household Product, while our Solar Jars™ walked away with wins in two different categories: Best South African Household Product and Best Small Electrical Appliance.

First awarded in 1989, the Packaging Achiever of the Year award is the highest accolade that the South African packaging industry can bestow. Our CEO, Mike Arnold, was honoured with this prominent recognition for his incredible achievements as an innovator in the glass packaging industry, as well as for his dedication to waste management and recycling programmes throughout South Africa.

As a business grows, so must its operational capacity. Beginning in 2009, we set out to do just that, by optimising and streamlining our Gauteng warehouse network. The process was far from easy, but the results speak for themselves. We were able to cut operational and transport costs, as well as improve compliance and efficiency, which naturally led to better customer service. These efforts were formally recognised at the Logistics Achiever Awards, and continue to serve us (as well as our customers) to this day.

We’ve received this stamp of approval from SAB (now AB InBev) many times over our long partnership. For one of the world’s leading beverage businesses, beautiful and functional packaging is a non-negotiable requirement, and Consol Glass is proud to continue delivering on this mandate across a wide variety of SAB’s flagship brands, year after year.
